Each player should have a bag to carry their equipment and
personal items. Here are the necessary items and some suggestions for
other things that make soccer life a little easier. We recommend that
the player makes sure their bag is ready to go the night before a game
or practice to help you get them to the field on time.
Must haves for
each practice: Ball (size 4), Shin Guards, Sneakers
or Cleats (cleats must be soccer style with NO toe cleat), Water.
Game Day:
All of the above plus all parts of the uniform. Home
teams usually wear dark colors while away teams wear light colors;
however, there is always the possibility of a change right before the
game.
In cold weather,
sweatshirts can be worn; however, the uniform must be over the top. Long
sweatpants can be worn as well (try to coordinate with the uniform).
Safety:
Earrings, necklaces, watches and other jewelry as well as hard hair
retainers or barrettes cannot be worn at practice or in a game.
Shin guards must be worn
under socks.
Other items. These
are things that are not required but help make life easier, especially
when traveling. Some of the items may be kept in the players bag, but
most items you can just leave in the car:
Towel, pony tail holders,
band aids, zip lock bags, sweat proof sunscreen (even in cool weather),
flip flops or "slides", extra uniform pieces, change of clothes (good to
have when going to a restaurant after a game), ball pump, snack, tape,
team and parent contact roster.
